Managing Your Monthly Budget

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Many of us oftentimes get worried about their monthly budget, not overseeing your budget can contribute to placing you further in debt if you are not careful. Overseeing your budget properly has many gains including saving you money and help relief some of your stress over debt. Always keep in mind that a budget is primarily a program for your monthly spending. Your budget, like any programme, demands some level of management to make it work for you. The manner I manage my budget, for example, is by concentrating on maintaining information organized and controlling my expenditure.

My main focus is on organising the info in mybudget. I keep track of recurring expenses like utilities, automobile and loan payments, insurance, and the like, for example. Consider that without coordinating my budget, I can very easily lose track of my expenditure. By knowing what expenses repeat every month, I have an immediate hold on the minimum amount of money I have to set aside each month before I spend on other things I can control a little more such as entertainment, apparel, and vacations.

To make a financial progress, I make sure that I monitor my expenditure in my budget. A great measure of advancement is putting money into a savings instrument or paying down debt. However, if I over spend, the opposite is true because rather than saving money I will use debt to help me cover the monthly expenditure in my budget. Distinctly, giving in to the stresses of budgeting can have costly outcomes for my finances, specially if I am not able to pay down my debt.

There are two benefits for watching and organising my budget: First, I save money by fending off unneeded expenditure. Second, my finances are pointed at achieving financial goals. Fundamentally, by spending sagely and buying only things that are needed, I am actually freeing up money that I can either use for something else or save. The extra money can also be useful in paying off debt or keeping it for a vacation. In addition to having extra money, it will also allow me to yield longer term financial goals like saving and investing for retirement or paying off my mortgage or student loans. With my budget being coordinated and controlled, not only does my financial position become more healthy but successfully managing my budget reduces the stress that often comes with being in debt.

Job Search Using the Net to Succeed

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

A modern job search campaign is by nature quite intricate. While the web has offered a variety of new channels, it also creates increased competition for choice jobs and possible challenges for job hunters.

Job hunting needs to be thought of as a personal, highly directed marketing operation where you are the product. Your resume is an ad. Your extended network of contacts is your source for information.

So where does the net fit in? At AA-Careers, we recently posted a job on a popular job site and got 600 plus applications in a calendar week. For a single opening. That’s increased competition for job openings.

Had the right person contacted us before we ran the ad, they could have landed the job before running in to all that competition. How? By knowing an employee at our company who became aware of the job prior to posting. Everyone was aware of the job for at least 9 days before it was posted. Who in your network might know of a job that’s coming available soon?

Be sure to check your cover letter and resume carefully! When we did an analysis of the 650 resumes, we found a large number of errors. 63% of the applicants were easily taken out with a fast triage process. How? The same way any HR professional would. By eliminating resumes where the objective didn’t match our position description. By rejecting prospects whose cover letters gave us grounds not to hire them, like "I know I’m overqualified but I really need a job". By eliminating job hunters whose documents that didn’t open properly. And by passing over job hunters who didn’t trouble to spell check their cover letter and/or resume.

So the great news is that job boards give you a feel of what companies are hiring, and for what kinds of positions. But once those positions are posted, the competition is intense. You can still try, if you have a well thought out resume, designed to appeal directly and clearly to the recruiter. And if you have practiced interviewing – so you don’t stumble at a critical point.

Another downside to be aware of is how quickly you can be looked up on the internet. As we Googled several candidates, we ran into some Facebook comments that were in questionable taste. Nothing crazy, but enough to sway our thoughts about who to hire.

AA-Careers provides a encompassing set of services for Bay Area job seekers, providing our clients a personal career consultant, a managed job hunting campaign, modern tools like a personal website, video, highly targeted resume, and much more. Let us know if we can help you.

Be careful out there, and good hunting!

Importance of Monthly Budgeting

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Managing my household budget can sometimes be very stressful, but not overseeing it can put me into financial debt before I realize it. The benefits from looking after my budget correctly not only save me money but help to relieve some tension I have concerning my debt.

There are numerous things in life that regulate me financially, but there is probably nothing that affects my finances more than a family budget. There are not too many individuals nowadays who have learned how to budget and this can cause many financial troubles, including debt. One main cause why so many of us do not create a budget is because we think it is just too complicated. But in actuality, creating a budget does not have to be hard at all; it can be as easy as writing down our expenditure and updating it every month. By practicing this habit, we do not spend more than we have.

It is important for me to keep in mind that my budget is merely my program for my monthly expenditure. Just like any programme, my budget does require me to supervise it to keep it operating correctly. The first step in creating my budget is organizing the information that I need in it. I keep track of expenses like car payments, utilities, car insurance policy, living expenses, etc. If I do not coordinate my budget, I can easy find myself in debt. It is essential for me to know how much I require on expenditures each month.

I see two advantages with keeping abreast with my finances through my budget. Firstly, it eliminates superfluous expenditure. And secondly, I can keep myself from going into unnecessary debt. When I spend my money wisely, I buy only things that are essential and I free up money that I can use on something that I want or can save it. With the extra money I am able to save, I have the option of putting it aside and investing.

Moderating Your Monthly Budget Is Easy

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Handling my monthly budget has always been a headache, juggling between usual monthly bills and unforeseen expenses. My paycheck was already spent as soon as I got it. I got a lot of bills every month and put them off to the last minute, then dealt with them all in a rush. As a result I ended up taking over money from the next paycheck just to make it through. The problem was not related to how much money I made, it’s that I didn’t know how to manage my budget. In the case of any emergency, landed me even further in debt.

Most of us have been in this situation. We try to control our expenditure and be careful with our money, but long before the month is over, the money is spent. Paying Off bills is a juggling act that most of us don’t have the time or energy to comprehend. There’s always one bill that was unnoticed or delayed, one more expenditure we weren’t organized for. With school supplies and fees for the kids, groceries, new tyres for the car, and the rising cost of petrol, just making it from paycheck to paycheck is challenging enough; saving money is out of the question. Meanwhile, debt is softly piling up. How can I get my budget under control?

I was fortunate to have found a service which will help me budget my money more wisely and take away the stress of paying off monthly bills, allowing me to focus on the things that really matter to my family. No more worrying over where the money will come from; I can finally relax, knowing that my finances are in good hands.

The financial planning process:
Usually during your initial consultation, your budget specialist will go over all of your existing debts and monthly payments to come up with a program that works for you. They will set aside money for savings, emergencies, and long term investment, ensuring your family’s financial security. If you are planning a major purchase, this will be factored into your budget so that when you are ready to buy, the money will be there for you.

Your paychecks are usually deposited with your financial planner, and a separate account is set up for your living expenses. Your bills are directly delivered to your budgeting consultant for payment. Some budget services will even negotiate with your creditors to reduce your monthly payments and reduce your outstanding debt. A low monthly fee is assessed for all these services.

For me, the most important monthly service my budget consultant provides is peace of mind. No more fuss with bill payment; I know my bills will be paid on time, and that I’ll have money in reservation for life’s little emergencies. My budget is finally under control, thanks to my financial planning service.

Hopefully Enjoying a Quality Dating Service in Dallas

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

You guys know I don’t like to admit it, but without a date, I get pretty lonely. I finally bottomed out, this morning I broke my resolution and smoked two packs of cigarettes. To ease the pain while being single, of course. I pretend to be ashamed about it. Is that even legal? Actually, that’s the moment when I honestly looked into getting out to date in my area.

Easy solution. Figured I’d boost my dating life with a professional dating service, Denver Great Expectations. And it never sounded better. Why do I bring it up? When I was a little tipsy at little Brent’s Easter egg hunt at Oak Park two weeks ago, Richard started bothering me if I’ve found my one and only. I just can’t believe that came up. Anyway, I looked up at them and yelled, “I’m eating here, and no.”

Even Gramps continued harping along the lines of marriage. I quipped to the whole group: “Dating isn’t for me, but you would bring that up.”

Can you believe this? Each one of them scoffed. Immediately, I fell asleep that night because the dating pressure was too much. But I couldn’t get it out of my head! I would have learned more by asking my son. Billy, who was just deployed on military commission recommended that I join Great Expectations. I said, “Fine, okay.” See, everything always works out. I especially enjoy the Denver Singles Events at Great Expectations.

When I started, matchmaking was new from my perspective. This was all really foreign to me, so much so that I got a little queasy. A mere faux pas did not put an end to the evening. The night was a limo pub crawl from heaven. The truth is I’ll never forget all the many enjoyable people I met, all available singles.

It wasn’t long before I was regularly mingling at these glorious Great Expectations Dallas singles events and mixers, I bumped into a collection of dynamite friends who certainly feel as excited as I am when talking about real-world dating. I really shouldn’t allow anyone get on my back about me not dating. Surprisingly enough, doing things in Dallas with Great Expectations is my pleasure and a remarkably refreshing dating experience.

Managing Composure in the Thick of Women’s Hair Loss

Monday, June 8th, 2009

It’s not easy to talk about, but lace front wigs were not my life. Dancing was my goal. This applied till two years ago when I started to lose my hair due to medical hair loss. I decided that I can’t allow for the outcome of showing up at work as the bald Bruce Willis by sheer dumb luck.

Personally, this meant I’d lost my power, deprived of a real head of hair. I resigned that there was nothing I could do to get back wonderful style. Buddy, I was ignorant. Before I got my lace front wig, I went through a barrage of silly fake wigs that didn’t match my scalp. My boyfriend Gordon worked his magic and found a few medical wig stores offering invisible lace front wigs that would feel great.

Then I jumped into the car and took a good look at their wigs. I discovered an array of beautiful, practical real hair wigs. Their breathable African American wigs suited me best.

With the best hair piece, a girl akin to myself would develop confidence while admitting to her baldness. I’ve never been more excited to toss my fashionable golden locks. This meant the world to me to sassily go about as I used to at the mall.

It wouldn’t surprise me if I could be exaggerating things, but hair and fashion are essential to my career. Could there be something else to reality than a great head of hair? Darn-it, I don’t care if someone told me otherwise. Here’s the good news: women’s hair loss can be beat!

I can’t believe what these blessings have done for me. Not many can tell about me and my cancer. However that’s how it goes, I’m simply set to to strut my stuff. Fashionable medical wigs for women enriched life for my attitude on life.

Judgmental people could feel my life’s course silly. Who cares? I don’t care who you are, what creature comforts make living so worthwhile? Personally, it’s working hard and my inimitable style.

Personalizing Your Treatment

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

I have been around the field of back pain and its treatment for a great number of years as a nurse. It wasn’t until after I had a near fatal auto accident that I realized I needed to begin to find back pain exercises that helped relieve my own pain and strengthen my core muscles. I knew I was going to have to personalize the exercises to take into consideration some physical limitations I had. I was fortunate to find a great physical therapist who gave me simple instructions to follow, and then later Pilates’ exercises specific to pain management.

Now that you have your back pain and have been told that you need to do back pain exercises, how do you find out which ones are best for you? I was sent to a physical therapist who worked with my specific areas of pain and took into consideration my physical limitations. Utilizing your health care professionals as a resource is a good first start. Other suggestions are to look for experts in the field pertaining to your pain, attend related seminars, explore internet sites or read books. I discovered a Pilates’ instructional book for back limitations, and also began taking Qi Qong, both of which helped me.

Motivation – Get the Daily Dose that Keeps You on Fire

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

“One of the strongest characteristics of genius is the power of lighting its own fire.” John W. Foster

If that’s the case we each have the ability to manifest the genius within. Motivation seems to have many of us playing red light-green light. We’re on, then off. Check out the following steps to keep the fire burning.

1- Be in tune to what lights your fire~ Dr Carol Dweck*, who received her PhD in psychology from Yale, and is currently on staff at Stanford University has studied motivation and offered the following, “… when you sift through the literature on creative genius, the researchers agree that motivation is perhaps the number one component in the realization of genius. Many of our most illustrious geniuses in every field were people who were considered ordinary as children, and then just caught fire around their topic and achieved amazing things that we know about todayfrom Darwin, to Coleridge, to Cézanne. All of these people were not necessarily extraordinary children.” What provides the emotional charge that makes it easy to take action? List the topics, ideals, information, music, activities, causes, and passions that get you wound up? This is part of who you are, different from others, that deserves to manifest and be shared.

2- Get your daily dose~ Fill yourself up with the stuff that keeps your flame lit. Don’t think about what you “should” do. Do what makes you feel great! Incorporate joy into your schedule daily. First, you will feel more energized, more complete, and in flow. Secondly, you stand apart from others. So if you hate building your business by cold calling, don’t do it. What do you enjoy? If you are uncomfortable networking, shifting your focus to helping others may make a big difference if that’s what you value. Filling your mind with exciting information, listening to uplifting music, or connecting with someone who inspires you may be just the daily habit to keep you whistling while you work.

3- Take responsibility to motivate yourself~ As motivational speaker Zig Ziglar would hear complaints about motivation wearing off he would sometimes respond saying, “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing-that’s why we recommend it daily.” Too often we are looking for someone or something to provide motivation when it’s really up to us to keep that spark ignited.

What makes you jump out of bed in the morning? What inspires you into action daily so that the genius in you is manifested fully? Ponder that. Starting Now!
