Man Denied Comitting Murder at Super Nightclub the Ministry of Sound
Monday, January 4th, 2010A man has denied murdering a clubber outside the world-famous Ministry of Sound nightspot.
Ranjit Nankani, 29, is accused of killing Gary Johnson in the early hours of August 31.
Mr Johnson, 25, of Knollys Road, Streatham, suffered severe head injuries.
It is believed he was hit by a car.
He was found dead by police in Gaunt Street, close to the nightclub in Elephant & Castle, at 4.15am.
Nankani appeared at the Old Bailey on Friday via videolink.
He denied a single count of murder.
A second man, 27-year-old Dwayne McPherson, also appeared via videolink.
He is accused of trying to kill Nankani during the same incident.
Nankani needed hospital treatment for a gunshot wound to the shoulder.
McPherson is also charged with possession of a handgun and possession of a firearm at the time of committing an offence.
A provisional trial date for both men has been set for July 12 and they are due to appear for a further hearing on February 12.
